Space the final frontier. To go where no man has gone before.

Sound like some thing you heard before?

This week we have heard from our president on space and how NASA will be tasked for the future.

Am I wrong or is our new president looking kind of like the old president.

You remember him, the one that took away our privacy, spent a trillion dollars on a war started with lies. Oh yea, and brought down the financial world by not reining in greed and incompetence in government and investment.

Well let me see:

1. Bring our soldiers home. (nope send them to Afghanistan)

2. Stop holding people with out rights. (nope make more hidden jails)

3. Make health care for the people. (nope give to the Health corporations)

4. Bring responsibility to the Banks (nope more big bonuses and bad practices)

Some how it looks like the same old ideas run by the same old folks.

Last time we had a down home folksy kind of guy that seemed clueless. Now we have a guy that is well spoken and an intellectual, but it seems that we have not seen any change.

I believe we have reached a point where as Americans we are entering a time where we need to accept the reality of ELNL

The party is over and it is time to pay the Piper.

The greatest Consumer society of all time is in trouble.

Did the corporations get to greedy or did we just want to much?

I believe we are reliving the 1920’s. A time where life was good and anything was available for all. Then came the depression!

Although much has changed and the markets are vastly different, there was a similarity of mood. As a people have we sunk into that mood where we think we were invincible?

Have we been so manipulated by corporations’ marketing specialists, social engineers, and media campaigns, that we are non-thinking puppets good only as sheep to be sheared?

Are we so disconnected from our government that, we the people, no longer have the will to be thoughtful voters, but spout the medias sound bites as if it were our own thoughts?

Is the United States of America a declining empire?

Do we understand that, Excepting Less may be our lot and to dig our way out of the hole we have dug for ourselves may mean Needing Less.

The more I read the more I am frustrated by both sides of the Health Care Bill. If we the people are to understand and become a part of this new law, how are we to find our way through the maze of rhetoric spouting from each side in this battle. The we also have the waves of media pumping out garbage that serves no one but small groups with small agendas.
the following is a reprint of such a group. I guess it is from the anti goverment group but I leave it up to you.

Have You Read The New Health Plan Bill?

 Your representative in Congress probably hasn’t either… Here are some highlights directly from the bill.

The Proposed Health Care Plan:

Pg 22 of the HC Bill MANDATES the Govt will audit books of ALL EMPLOYERS that self insure

Note: If a self insured plan runs out of money and you are a plan member, would you like to know before it collapses

Pg 30 Sec 123 of HC bill – THERE WILL BE A GOVT COMMITTEE that decides what treatments/benefits you receive

Pg 29 lines 4-16 in the HC bill – YOUR HEALTHCARE IS RATIONED. You can only receive a certain amount of “care” per year

Note: today your insurance company decides what kind of care you get. The Committee may be no better, but probably no worse.

Pg 42 of HC Bill – The Health Choices Commissioner will choose your HC Benefits for you. You have no choice.

PG 50 Section 152 in HC bill – HC will be provided to ALL non US residents, illegal or otherwise

Note: I wonder how that is defined in that section, as this does not explicitly define who is covered.

Pg 58HC Bill – Govt will have real-time access to individuals finances & a National ID Health Card will be issued.

Pg 59 HC Bill lines 21-24 Govt will have direct access to your banks accts for funds transfer

Note: I am not a fan of this bill and this is one of the reasons (who owns your information online)

PG 65 Sec 164 is a payoff subsidized plan for retirees and their families in Unions & community orgs (example -ACORN).

Note: Well ACORN is dead but this seems to be aimed at retirees not covered by other plans.

OK OK all this is getting the point. what is printed here is one point of view and may be rephrased to make a point, and maybe is not true.

What we need to do is be good citizens and think for our selves. if you don't like something vote.

Vote with your pocketbook, Vote by telling your representative your not happy. Vote by remembering who is not doing your business in washington and Vote them OUT of Office.

This is a crappy bill but possibly more because the special interest groups won the day and not the general public.

Pg 72 Lines 8-14 Govt is creating an HC Exchange to bring private HC plans under Govt control.

PG 84 Sec 203 HC bill – Govt mandates ALL benefit pkgs for private HC plans in the Exchange

PG 85 Line 7 HC Bill – Specs for Benefit Levels for Plans = The Govt will ration your Healthcare.

PG 91 Lines 4-7 HC Bill – Govt mandates linguistic appropriate services….. Example – Translation for illegal aliens

Pg 95 HC Bill Lines 8-18 The Govt will use groups i.e., ACORN & Americorps to sign up individually for Govt HC plan

PG 85 Line 7 HC Bill – Specs of Benefit Levels for Plans.#AARP members – your Health care WILL be rationed

-PG 102 Lines 12-18 HC Bill - Medicaid Eligible Indiv. will be automatically enrolled in Medicaid. No choice.

pg 124 lines 24-25 HC No company can sue GOVT on price fixing. No “judicial review” against Govt monopoly

pg 127 Lines 1-16 HC Bill – Doctors/ #AMA – The Govt will tell you what you can make.

Pg 145 Line 15-17 An Employer MUST auto enroll employees into public option plan. NO CHOICE

Pg 126 Lines 22-25 Employers MUST pay for HC for part time employees AND their families.

Pg 149 Lines 16-24 ANY Employer with a payroll 400k & above who does not prov. public option, pays 8% tax on all payroll

pg 150 Lines 9-13 Businesses with payroll between 251k & 400k that don’t prov. pub. opt pay 2-6% tax on all payroll

Pg 167 Lines 18-23 ANY individual who doesn’t have acceptable HC accordng to Govt will be taxed 2.5%

Pg 170 Lines 1-3 HC Bill, Any NONRESIDENT Alien is exempt from individual taxes. (American taxpayers will pay for them)

Pg 195 HC Bill -officers & employees of HC Admin (GOVT) will have access to ALL Americans financial/personal records

PG 203 Line 14-15 HC – “The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax”

Pg 239 Line 14-24 HC Bill, Govt will reduce physician services for Medicaid. Seniors, low income, poor will be very affected

Pg 429 Lines 1-9 An “adv. care planning consult” will be used frequently as patients health deteriorates

PG 429 Lines 10-12 “adv. care consultation” may include an ORDER for end of life plans.

Pg 429 Lines 13-25 – The govt will specify which Doctors can write an end of life order.

PG 430 Lines 11-15 The Govt will decide what level of treatment you will have at end of life

Pg 469 – Community Based Home Medical Services=Non profit orgs.

Page 472 Lines 14-17 PAYMENT TO COMMUNITY-BASED ORG. 1 monthly payment to a community-based org.

PG 489 Sec 1308 The Govt will cover Marriage & Family therapy. Which means they will insert Govt into your marriage

Pg 494-498 Govt will cover Mental Health Svcs including defining, creating, rationing those service
